Greetings;
Well, it's that time again. For PSRC, per our Bylaws, elections and our Annual Meeting. The Annual Meeting will be held on Sat. Jan 28, 2012. The location is the Airport Diner (on Hwy 3 between Gorst and Belfair). The event will start at 6:30 pm with the ordering of dinner at 7 pm and the meeting to follow. RSVP by 1/21/12 so I can make the proper arrangements with the diner.
This past year was an active year based on the use of the grounds for training specifically the monthly club training days and the two Licensed NAHRA Field Tests that were held. I believe this is the key to growth of membership and financial stability. We are in negoitiations with our land owners in regards to our leases. A land owner has informed us of an increase in the lease fee for 2012. We are hoping to ensure long term use of property while keeping the cost at a level that will not cause an increase in club dues. Having grounds for members to use for training is crucial to our existence. 2012 membership is due on Jan 1, please stay current.
The club also had a booth at Peninsula Dog Fancier's Responsible Dog Ownership Day in Sep. This is an event that I'd encourage you to go to next year as it has something for everyone (dog related that is).
Our plan is to continue having monthly training days (2nd Sat. of the month). The next one will be Nov. 12 starting at 10 am. Anyone is welcome, so invite a friend or three. If planning on attending please let me know a few days prior to.
We also plan on having 2 Field Tests either (6/23-24, 7/21-22 and/or 9/1-2). We would like to increase member participation in these events also. The 2 events we had in 2011 caused an increase in our financial coffers of approximately $2200. A more accurate financial report will be presented at the Annual Meeting.
In the matter of election, there is one Director position, Director #3, up for re-election. That position is currently held by Aaron Capps. The election committee currently is comprised of Tim Lockard (chairman) and Nora Williams. If anyone is interested in running for that position please contact them at:
Tim 360 598 3818 or tlockard.wa@netzero.net
Nora 360 876 4860 or sequimbreeze@aol.com
If you know of anyone that might might be interested in participating with Puget Sound Retriever Club, invite them to attend a training session and/or the Annual Meeting.
